Not-So Dark Matter: CBS Renews "Big Bang Theory" and "Two and a Half Men" for Multiple Seasons

In a rather expected twist, CBS and Warner Bros. Television have reached an official agreement that will see comedy series The Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half Men return for multiple seasons.

Under the terms of the deal, Two and a Half Men received a three-season renewal that will see the Charlie Sheen and Jon Cryer-led series run through the 2011-12 season while The Big Bang Theory received a two-season pickup that will keep it on the air through the 2010-11 season.

"Our collaboration with Warner Bros. and Chuck Lorre for these two series has led to great entertainment for television audiences and has been very good business for CBS," said Nina Tassler, President, CBS Entertainment, in a press release. "With these shows firmly in place, CBS is well-positioned for more comedy success in the years ahead."

"We are extremely grateful to and appreciative of CBS for the support and long-term commitment they have made to both of these remarkable series with their well-deserved, multi-year pickups," said Peter Roth, President, Warner Bros. Television. "We look forward to many more years of continued mutual success."

No word yet on whether Two and a Half Men co-star Angus T. Jones will be cryogenically frozen to prevent him from aging into a full man.
