NBC Slates Return for "Chuck"
While I am still shaking from last night's private screening of Paramount's new feature Cloverfield (run, don't walk to see this movie when it comes out), I am thrilled to have some news for Chuck fans.
After wondering endlessly what fate would befall the final two produced episodes of NBC's action-comedy Chuck, I was a little bit surprised to learn just what the Peacock would do with those two installments.
NBC issued a press release yesterday alerting the media that it would air Chuck's final two original episodes on January 24th, at 8 pm and 10 pm ET/PT.
Cause for celebration, no? While I'm thrilled we'll finally get to catch up with Chuck, Sarah, Casey, and the rest of the Buy More crew (including Casey's intriguing romantic backstory, as promised to me by Adam Baldwin), I am a little confused as to why NBC would burn off the episodes during January rather than wait until February sweeps.
Furthermore, I'm not too pleased that the Peacock isn't even presenting these two final episodes back-to-back, but "sandwiched" around an episode of The Celebrity Apprentice smack at 9 pm. As much as I love Chuck, there's no way I am tuning in between episodes to watch Donald Trump boss around a much of D-list "celebrities."
Me, I'll be recording the two episodes on my TiVo and watching them back-to-back... unless I am so starved for first-run scripted programming by then that I parcel them out, the television equivalent of wartime rations.
Chuck airs Thursday, January 24th at 8 pm and 10 pm on NBC.
