Link Tank: TV Blog Coalition Roundup for Oct. 10-12

Televisionary is proud to be a member of the TV Blog Coalition. At the end of each week, we'll feature a roundup of content from our sister sites for your delectation.

This week, I took an in-depth look at Season Two of 30 Rock on DVD and felt much better about the merits of that series than NBC's latest comedy effort, Kath & Kim. I also gave up my thoughts about this week's episode of The Office and the final four contestants on Project Runway.

I was also deeply disturbed by FOX's announcement that they would be developing yet another US adaptation of Absolutely Fabulous. All this, plus discussions on Pushing Daisies and Life on Mars.

Elsewhere in the sophisticated TV-obsessed section of the blogosphere, members of the TV Blog Coalition were discussing the following items...
  • Buzz spent some phone time with Lee Pace, whose delightful show you should really all be watching. (BuzzSugar)
  • Daemon's TV shared an interview with Chris Diamontopoulos from The Starter Wife set visit. (Daemon's TV)

Link Tank: TV Blog Coalition Roundup for Oct. 3-5

Televisionary is proud to be a member of the TV Blog Coalition. At the end of each week, we'll feature a roundup of content from our sister sites for your delectation.

This week, I took an early look at the first three episodes of Season Two of ABC's Pushing Daisies and loved what I saw. I also took an early look at the new pilot for ABC's Life on Mars remake and was less than thrilled once again.

I was thrilled to talk about the Pushing Daisies season premiere with viewers and cannot wait for the Wonderfalls/Pushing Daisies crossover! I also was beyond happy to have Dirty Sexy Money back on the airwaves again, praised FOX for wisely picking up a full season of Fringe, and bemoaned the fact that Kenley is still in the running on Project Runway.

  • Vance is currently drooling over the hot Top 20 dancers on So You Think You Can Dance Canada. (Tapeworthy)

  • This week, the TV Addict wondered why more Browncoats aren't tuning in to Summer Glau on TERMINATOR THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES (the TV Addict)

This week, I took an advance look at HBO's pond-skipping new comedy Little Britain USA, from the warped minds of David Walliams and Matt Lucas. (Yes, you'll be talking about Mr. Doggy come Monday.)

I also took an early look at the season premiere of CBS' The Amazing Race, offered an online look at the entire Season Two premiere of NBC's Chuck (the first three episodes of which I had reviewed the week before), berated the judges on Project Runway for keeping Kenley around, even after her latest tantrum, and again offered up by thoughts on this week's episode of FOX's Fringe and the season premiere of NBC's The Office.

  • Vance is disappointed with buzzworthy shows 90210 and Heroes so far but is totally charmed by Privileged. (Tapeworthy)
  • She's easy to hate -- the Tim Gunn disrespect, the constant laughing, the hyperconfidence -- but Marisa can't help but like Kenley on Project Runway. (TiFaux)
  • Raoul talked to Misha Collins about his role on Supernatural (TV Filter)

Televisionary is proud to be a member of the TV Blog Coalition. At the end of each week, we'll feature a roundup of content from our sister sites for your delectation.

This week, I was less than thrilled with the CW's relaunch of 90210, complete with overplayed songs, one-dimensional characterization, and found it to be much less fun overall than Gossip Girl, The O.C., or Skins. I also took an advance look at the first two episodes of Season Five of HBO's Entourage, offered an advance review of the season opener of the CW's latest cycle of America's Next Top Model, and was super-excited about the casting of Jennifer Aniston on NBC's 30 Rock this season, among other things.

This week, I reviewed the laughably bad BBC drama series Bonekickers, from the typically brilliant creators of Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes, and was shocked and horrified by just how truly awful it was.

This week, I was livid about sourpuss Lisa making her way into the final round on Top Chef and then having to nerve to pounce down Richard and Stephanie's throats when they weren't pleased enough for her. Grr.

The highlight of my week? The jaw-dropping and brilliant season ender of Lost (even if my thoughts about who was in that coffin didn't exactly pan out). The low point? This week, I put on my Pilot Inspektor cap and reviewed the pilot episodes for several new series, including FOX's new J.J. Abrams drama Fringe ("spellbinding television"), ABC's misguided US adaptation of UK series Life on Mars, and HBO's lackluster True Blood.

Davies would be leaving Doctor Who (and my excitement that he'd be replaced at the helm by Steven Moffat), my excitement that Arrested Development's Judy Greer had been cast in the US adaptation of Suburban Shootout for HBO, my confusion over sourpuss Lisa still being on Top Chef, and my complete and utter boredom over the second season finale of Ugly Betty.

This week, I was all about the network upfronts, from ABC and CBS to FOX and the CW, offering my thoughts on the scheduling announcements for this fall and breaking down each network's primetime lineup.

I all stayed up late one night pondering just who the Final Cylon is on Battlestar Galactica and offered up my theory on who the last sleeper agent might be and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the fourth season finale to NBC's The Office, especially given this lackluster past season.

Rabbit feet, cursed numbers, and rescue? I took a look at this week's first part of the three-hour season finale of Lost and broke down storylines, clues, and allusions for viewers, offered my take on the finale of BBC America's Last Restaurant Standing (which I'm already missing) and wished that the judges on Top Chef had sent all three of those arrogant chefs home this week.

Elsewhere in the sophisticated TV-obsessed section of the blogosphere, members of the TV Blog Coalition were discussing the following items...
  • BuzzSugar got the awesome opportunity to chat with the adorable Bret Harrison (a.k.a. Sam the bounty hunter for the Devil) about the future of Reaper. (BuzzSugar)
  • Mikey is generally pleased (if slightly underwhelmed) with this year's network upfront presentations. As for the social skills of the So You Think You Can Dance dancers, he's just kind of horrified. (Mikey Likes TV)
  • Thanks to CBS, Moonlight's dead. But what will we do without our weekly Jason Dohring fix? Come share your ideas on where he should be cast next. (RTVW)
  • Talk of long division and twin side beds? Either Scooter has been watching too much of The Big Bang Theory or Death Cab for Cutie has a new album out. Well, most likely both. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)
  • This week, the TV Addict spent some time in New York professionally reporting on the TV Network UpFronts. Oh who are we kidding... we met 90210's Kelly Taylor! OMFG! (the TV Addict)
  • If only Kevin and Scotty waited one more week, they could have had a real marriage instead of just a big ol' gay commitment ceremony out there in California! Either way, it was extremely sweet and wrapped up an uneven season of Brothers & Sisters on a high note, well, at least until the whole not-incest thing between Rebecca and Justin. (Tapeworthy)
  • Dan didn't (still hasn't, actually) get a chance to see this week's Top Chef, but you can get a chance to create your own episode through this Top Chef Mad Lib. (TiFaux)
  • Raoul chatted with Survivor winner Parvati. (TV Filter)

"We have to move the island." This week, I was once again obsessed with Lost, but paused from my island-induced stupor to remember why I love Battlestar Galactica (offering another season of religious, political, moral, and emotional conflict amid amazing special effects and a kick-ass plot), and ponder whether Gossip Girl was burning through too much story too quickly.

I also celebrated the far-too-delayed elimination of Dominique on America's Next Top Model AND that a certain cheftestant on Top Chef, and offered a rundown of what series the networks might be announcing next week at the Upfronts.

Oh, and I am still saddened that 30 Rock's second season is already over, especially when faced with a funny if slightly disappointing season ender.

Elsewhere in the sophisticated TV-obsessed section of the blogosphere, members of the TV Blog Coalition were discussing the following items...
  • With her mind fully blown by a Wire actor joining the 90210 spinoff, Buzz asks which actors you'll always associate with particular characters. (BuzzSugar)
  • Amie shared her thoughts on MTV's The Hills' latest episode "No Place Like Home." (Daemon's TV)
  • Marcia worried about starlet stunt-casting on How I Met Your Mother and Ugly Betty. (Pop Vultures)
  • Facial Hair or Facial Scare: What do you think of this growing trend and which TV star who wears his facial hair best? (RTVW)
  • Come see why Scooter will be saying "What up Mustafa?" ad nausea for the next couple months. And if that doesn't wet your appetite, it has to do with something on PBS not named Bob Ross. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)
  • "Fame, I'dols going to live forever, I'dols going to learn how to fly, high!". Vance notes how this weeks American Idol fit into the lyrics of "Fame" eerily well. (Tapeworthy)
  • Once again, TiFaux's kinky side reared its ugly head as Dan discussed which TV star tattoos were the hottest. Vote on who you think is the hottest! (TiFaux)
  • Tube Talk vents its frustration at ABC for cancelling Men in Trees. (Tube Talk)
  • With the rumblings in the press that SMALLVILLE'S Allison Mack is getting ready to jump ship, this TV Addict thought he'd offer up a word of caution. (the TV Addict)
  • Kate broke down who will be in and who will be out when Project Runway makes its move to Lifetime. (TV Filter)
so frakking much. (

This week, I was enthused about the fourth season pairing of David Tennant and Catherine Tate in Doctor Who, offered a casting scoop about Catherine O'Hara in Rob Thomas' new drama pilot Good Behavior, and once again found myself enthralled by the latest episode of Lost... and laughing out loud at the latest brilliant installment of 30 Rock.

Oh, I also dissected the solemn second season ender of FX's The Riches, provided an advance review of the inanity of CW's new reality series Farmer Wants a Wife, and discussed my disappointment in this sub-par season of The Office.

Elsewhere in the sophisticated TV-obsessed section of the blogosphere, members of the TV Blog Coalition were discussing the following items...
  • With the Sex and the City movie looming, Buzz proposed a dozen essential episodes of the series to watch before May 30. (BuzzSugar)
  • With the start of season 2 of Robin Hood on BBC America, Sandie shared her interview with Richard Armitage, who plays Guy of Gisbourne. (Daemon's TV)

  • Want to know what you will be listening at the beach or on your road trip this summer? Scooter runs down twenty-five albums that will be released over the next four months. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)
  • With apologies to Supernatural, Scrubs and My Name Is Earl, Vance is supa dupa excited from the amazing Thursday onslaught of Ugly Betty, Grey's Anatomy, 30 Rock, Lost, The Office and Survivor. (Tapeworthy)
  • In the wake of a prominent death on Battlestar Galactica, Dan got all Mr. Wizard on us and did some hasty internet research on what would actually happen to you if you got sucked out of the airlock and into outer space. It ain't pretty. (TiFaux)
  • Jennifer was outraged to hear of the impending cancellation of Aliens in America and launched into a red-faced rant about the current state of television. (Tube Talk)
  • Raoul talked to the rather fascinating Lauren of America's Next Top Model (TV Filter)

This week, I dished about Torchwood's second season finale, was thrilled that guilty pleasure Gossip Girl returned with new episodes (and a Bass sweater for Machiavellian Chuck), praised Rob Thomas for his uncanny casting ability on drama pilot Good Behavior (landing former Arrested Development co-star Mae Whitman as Roxy), and thought that this week's 30 Rock was a triumph of comedic wit, with an extended homage to Amadeus.

Also: news about Lucy Liu joining the cast of Dirty Sexy Money, Gavin & Stacey heads to BBC America, Lloyd and Adwoa create a "chamber of love" on Last Restaurant Standing, FOX renews Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, and does anyone not think that Richard and Dale deserve a place in the final two on Top Chef?

But, ultimately, I was really all about the shape of things to come on Lost, which returned this week with a kick-ass installment focusing on Ben that raised as many questions as it answered (hello, Smokey!).

Elsewhere in the sophisticated TV-obsessed section of the blogosphere, members of the TV Blog Coalition were discussing the following items...
  • Buzz played agent to Lauren Graham and asked what her next career move should be. (BuzzSugar)
  • Sandie shared pictures from the set of Moonlight. (Daemon's TV)
  • Marcia liveblogged the UK's BAFTA Television Awards, in which shows most Americans have never heard of took home the big prizes. (Pop Vultures)
  • Rae listened in on a teleconference with Jason Dohring about the return of Moonlight and shares her favorite bits. (RTVW)
  • You soon won't forget Sarah Marshall. Yep, Scooter can write uber-cheesy headlines with the best of them. (Scooter McGavin's 9th Green)
  • This week, the TV Addict set the internet ablaze with his review of the highly anticipated BATTLESTAR GALACTICA prequel CAPRICA [the TV Addict]
  • How I Met Your Mother introduces everyone to Vance's Canada! Welcome, eh! (Tapeworthy)
  • TiFaux launched a new regular feature this week with Dan recruiting some of his gal pals for Ask a Lesbian About This Week's Work Out. This week, they addressed Jackie's new haircut and Rebecca's shouting for attention. (TiFaux)
  • Jennifer was downright giddy after Robin and Barney's kiss on How I Met Your Mother and couldn't resist gushing about the Robin Sparkles-centered episode guest starring James Van Der Beek. And she can't stop singing, "I'm building sandcastles in the sand." (Tube Talk)
  • Kate scoured casting notices until she was able to confirm that yes, there really will be a Wedding of the Year on Gossip Girl (TV Filter)
